This is how we spend days when it is freezing outside.

During an unusually mild day this winter, we decided to take advantage of our zoo membership and feed sheep. Adam was excited to go back and we had fun walking around Central Park.

We spent our New Year’s Eve with our friends Julia and Eric and their adorable twins. We went to bed around 11:30pm, woke up bright and early, had pancakes for breakfast and watched our kids dance and giggle. What a way to start 2010!

Our friends invited us to spend Christmas Day with their family for the second year in a row. It was such a lovely day filled with laughter, music, chatter and a friendly monster toss competition. We sent our kids to nap, and they came down 40 minutes later giggling and telling us how they enjoyed jumping off their beds and onto Adam’s blow-up mattress. Julia’s mom prepared the most delicious bigos (”hunter’s stew”), it was out of this world, along with borscht, potato and herring salads. If we are lucky, we might get invited next year again. We can’t wait for more apple cider!

Last week Santa Claus made his magical appearance at Adam’s school. Kids had fun opening their gifts and partying in their classrooms. Poor Santa must have been tired. It is not an easy task to accommodate 100+ children on his lap.

It’s been only two weeks since we came back from Cancun, but it seems like it’s been ages. There are more photos to follow, but I wanted to share these two.

Adam and his classmates were celebrating Hanukkah last week. I decided to surprise him by baking cupcakes and picking him up a bit earlier. It was fun to watch him and his classmates practice songs for their “Music around the world” performance next week.
